Just Another Country Song about Love

The prompt was self love which I researched and wrote about seriously last night. Today I came up with the idea of doing a country song akong the lines of you don't love me because you don't love yourself. And this is what it wound up as :)

   It’s just another country song
   about how love went wrong
   It’s just another country song
   about love

She asked, “Why don’t you love me
The way that I need you to you?
Why can’t you love me
The way that I love you?”
She said, “well I can tell you why
It’s clear to me and it’s why I cry each night
You don’t love yourself enough
So how could you truly love me.”

   It’s just another country song
   about how love went wrong
   It’s just another country song
   about love

He said, “how can you say that to me
You know I would do anything for you.
I don’t show feelings the way you do
That’s just the way I am.
He said “I don’t get this new age stuff
And i don’t read Psychology Today
I just like to live my life
Without analyzing how I feel.”

   It’s just another country song
   about how love went wrong
   It’s just another country song
   about love

Now they’re both wondering where to go from here
Will either one change, do they care?
How could they not have know this was coming?
How could love have made them so blind?

   It’s just another country song
   about how love went wrong
   It’s just another country song
   about love
