Snooty song, draft one

I'm doing this differently tonight.  Partly for my own amusement and to keep a first draft intact, I'm posting my first draft of my song prompted by news that Snooty the Manatee dies.

My initial research for this song was about his zodiac sign, That was when I thought it would be a song about a fictional person named Snooty:
hypersensitive, observant and expressive. That‘s a lot of goodness rolled into one person. It doesn’t stop there. You are bestowed with intuitive and artistic qualities that can provide a particular movement within you.
As the zodiac sign for 21st July is cusp of Cancer and Leo, you can be irritable when motionless. Those born on this day can be very outgoing and sociable individuals. Naturally, you are protective and have a deep concern for your loved ones.
The 21st July birthday personality characteristics predicts that you love your family and your home. It is quite charming as are you, Cancer. On the other hand, you have a few weaknesses.
Those of you born under this zodiac sign can be moody, grumpy or unstable even. You stand your ground, however, when it comes to your individuality and your space. Cancer, according to the July 21st birthdate horoscope, are personalities who are very inventive or creative.
You have a spectacular imagination. People love you, as you are a wonderful person who is always helpful and nice.

I never knew about Snooty, hadn’t heard his name
Until I read on Facebook that he had died.
Born on the cusp of Cancer and Leo, he lived up to his billing,
He just had that personality that made everyone love him,

I know someone who went to his birthday party when he turned 68
I wish I had known him then, but now it’s too late.
Not sure how it happened, mechanical difficulties did him in
How can I miss Snootie when I never even met him?

Ah, Snooty was the oldest manatee living in captivity
The sea cow who everybody loved
I’m sitting here shedding tears for a mammal that I never knew
This is no hoax, my friends, Snooty is gone.

Cousin to an elephant, he weighed over half a ton.
He was graceful when swimming but moved languid and slow
A community is mourning this manatee legend
Snooty was a legend and everyone will miss him.

Now  let this be a lesson to me and you
Not everyone agrees about captivity and zoos
But I know I wouldn’t know much about  this species,
