Cold fall night

 Night

A book and chair

A bed and blanket,

Inside.

Black sky,

Brightened by stars,

Outside.

Restful and restless,

On a cold fall night,

Following a day of rain,

The clouds have moved on,

Tomorrow the sun should be back.

For now, it’s raining again,

Even though stars can be seen.

How is that possible?

A light rhythm plays on the roof.

Time to sleep.
