Deactivated

In case anyone is wondering, this is based on a writing prompt. I decided to try to go lighhearted with it but, seriously, how could a prompt like this not lead you down a negative path.
The prompt: "I'm so sorry. I have to deactivate you."

Deactivate

I’m so sorry
But I have to deactivate you.
In just a moment
You will no longer be able to speak, listen, touch, smell, see, eat
Or do anything in my presence.
You will no longer be in my life.
You will officially and forever be
Deactivated from any contact with
or control over
me.
If you want to walk away,
now would be a good time.
Or you can wait until I’m done talking
And notice that
I AM NOT LISTENING TO YOU
OR ACKNOWLEDGING YOUR PRESENCE
ANYMORE.
Remember these lines
by movie characters
who are more real to me than you?
“You are nothing to me now.”
“You are dead to me.”
And I mean that
literally.
You have been deactivated,
So sorry,
But you are now
Disconnected from my life and me.
You have been officially and finally
Deactivated.
And, I know I said I was sorry,
But really,
I’m not.
