I'm not the only one.
Waiting to hear if they're okay,
Knowing it's out of your hands,
Nothing you can say,
For now.
Waiting to hear if there's any new news,
Knowing you can't see for yourself,
Nothing you can do,
From here.
It's the waiting that's hard,
The not knowing.
It's the waiting,
Trying not to worry.
Waiting to see for yourself,
Knowing it might be too late,
Guilt stuck in your throat,
Try to let it go.
Waiting to see how it works out,
Knowing the cards have been dealt,
Wish you could see them
Before it's too late.
It's the waiting that's hard,
The not knowing.
It's the waiting,
Trying not to worry.
It's the worrying that comes with waiting
Even though you know worrying won't help.
It's the worrying and waiting,
Trying to carry on.
Don't make a mountain from a molehill,
Worrying will eat you up,
Those cliches and sayings don't help,
When you're anxiously waiting.
It's the waiting.
The waiting.
